This doll is part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
This one Dutch doll represents a woman from Barneveld. Barneveld is located in the Gelderland province and well known for its poultry sector. Hence the chicken on her hard plastic nameplate, which is marked 'Barneveld'. She is holding an empty straw basket and wears a red underskirt.
