This doll is part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
This doll is dressed in traditional Sunday costume of the village of Blaricum in the Noord Holland province. It is a plastic doll with eyes that open and close, missing her nameplate but she is able to stand on her own. She is wearing a red underskirt with a thin black stripe. Velvet bag and real feathers on hat. A former owner has left a paper note on the inside of her skirt telling us she is from Blaricum.
