This doll is part of a series of more than 100 dolls, all dressed differently in authentic Dutch regional costumes, often carrying little attributes like baskets, flowers and so on. They are standing on their own brown plastic or wooden nameplates. It is a fantastic series and it is not easy to find them all.
This is a Dutch doll that represents the Zaanstreek area in the Noord Holland province. She is a plastic doll with eyes that open and close, standing on a brown plastic stand marked 'Zaanstreek'. She is wearing formal/Sunday dress with a scissor and velvet bag attached to the waist. The fabric of the skirt has silver threads woven in. White cotton underskirt is somewhat yellowed with age, otherwise mint condition. Comes in original box
