This doll is dressed in traditional costume of the Friesland province in The Netherlands. She wears a green velvet jacket and skirt. Her apron is made out of lace entirely, as well as the shawl that is around her shoulders. Her underwear is plain white fabric. Gold paper is under her lace bonnet to simulate the gold metal 'oorijzer' or helmet type casque that is traditionally worn to keep everything in place. The doll seems to be a Wildebras doll. Wildebras is a Dutch doll brand made by the firm 'Het Poppenrijk' in Steenwijk from 1946 until 1973. This is a plastic doll with moulded hair, no marks.
