This beautiful hill tribe doll represents the Karen Pwo people. The Karen live in Thailand, China, Burma (Myanmar), Laos and Vietnam. The Karen Pwo is a subdivision of the ethnic Karen group and are mainly living in Thailand. This doll is made in Thailand and has porcelain head, hands and feet. The rest of her body is firmly stuffed cloth. Movable limbs, the head is rigid. Her costume is the traditional costume of a Karen Pwo girl or unmarried woman. Her dress is outstanding, made with great care and with lots of jewellery and decorations. Condition is absolutely mint. Her metal stand is included in this sale. No marks or label but this doll is designed by Vanida S. Mongkhon and handmade by Youthana Boonprakong.
