An older Dutch doll from Zuid Beveland in the Zeeland province in The Netherlands. According to the shape of the woman's bonnet she is of Catholic belief. Protestants from Zuid Beveland wear a more round form of the bonnet while Catholics wear a more square one. The doll is made of very lightweight material, most likely celluloid. Wooden clogs. Marked at the back with a lily or fleur de lis symbol and the number 10. It has been suggested that the doll is made in Japan. Black satin apron slightly discolored, brown aging spots all over the underskirt. The arms need restringing but we leave that up to you.
