Venezuela Masked Devil Dancer Doll from Yare 25 cm

 

This doll represents a devil dancer from Venezuela. 'Los Diablos Danzantes' dance at the christian Corpus Christi feast in villages along the Venezuelan coast. The doll is made of cloth over wire. There is no real face behind the mask. Marked 'Venezuela'and 'Diablo de Yare' in handwriting on and under its wooden stand. Size 25 cm/10 inches. Excellent condition.
