Beautiful hilltribe doll representing the Karen Pwo people. The Karen live in Thailand, China, Burma (Myanmar), Laos and Vietnam. The Karen Pwo is a subdivision of the ethnic Karen group that are mainly living in Thailand. This doll is made in Thailand and has porcelain head, hands and feet. The rest of her body is firmly stuffed cloth. Moveable limbs, the head is rigid. Her traditional costume is outstanding, made with great care and with lots of jewellery and decorations. Condition is absolutely mint. Her metal stand is included in this sale. Size 34 cm/13,5 inches. She comes with an explaining label stuck between her clothes 'Designed by Vanida S. Mongkhon, Handmade by Youthana Boonprakong, Made in Thailand' and a short story.
