This is a girl of around 6 years old, coming from Marken in The Netherlands. After the age of 6 the Marken girls get to wear a visible corset, but this girl doll does not wear one yet. Her jacket (called 'borsik') is made of sits or chintz, a cotton printed fabric originating from India that was first imported by the VOC, the dutch East India Company in the 17th century. The 'bauw', a square piece of cotton - in real life pinned - at the front of the jacket is also made of chintz. Unfortunately the apron has faded somewhat over time but the rest of her clothes are fine and look very authentic. Head made of vinyl with eyes that open and close, the rest of her body is harder plastic. Size 34 cm/13,5 inches. No visible marks. More pictures below.
