This is a pretty Santon doll from the Provence region in France, an older lady carrying a metal balance. She is signed 'Escoffier'. The doll is made by the famous santon maker Escoffier, the Escoffier studio is located in Aubagne, France. This doll is made of painted clay/pottery which is solid and rigid. Her arms and waist are partly wired to make them bendable. Size 18 cm/7,5 inches. Condition is fantastic. More pictures below.
