This is a male doll from Sri Lanka (former Ceylon), representing a snake charmer. He is hypnotising a snake by playing a flute-like instrument made from a gourd. He is a cloth over wire doll, his face seems to be pressed material covered with fabric. Printed facial features. Note his beard! The basket and snake are made of painted paper maché. Fixed onto a wooden stand. Size 19 cm/ 7,5 inches. No marks. More pictures below.
