This doll from Portugal is gorgeous. She is wearing the costume of Lisbon (Lisboa) and carries a large straw basket filled with greens and little vegetables, each between 1 and 2 cm in size. She probably represents a woman going to the market to sell her goods. The doll is made of hard plastic that is painted. Judgeing by the look of the prints on the fabrics of her outfit she could be dating from the 1960's or even earlier. She is wearing white cotton knickers and underskirt. The vegetables in the basket have started to crack a little bit over the years but she is in super condition otherwise! Size 26 cm/10 inches including basket. No visible marks.
